Before & After
White Bathroom Remodel – Takoma Park, MD
This before-and-after bathroom remodel in Takoma Park, MD said goodbye to peach tile and Hollywood strip lights — and hello to a bright all-white bath with a glass shower and floating vanity.
The original bath was pure mid-century: peach tile on every wall, a pedestal sink, and a row of exposed bulbs over the mirror. The new room is simple, luminous, and far more functional.
Beneath the new finishes, the bathroom received the same full mechanical update as every project we do — electrical, plumbing, and ventilation to current code.
Handled start to finish by Think2Remodel, a licensed Montgomery County contractor (MHIC #159517).

All original tile removed, walls rebuilt with waterproof backer, and re-tiled in clean white.
The old tub became a glass-front shower with white tile and a recessed niche — more space, easier access.
A wall-hung white vanity with storage drawers replaced the pedestal sink, keeping the small floor plan open.
A framed mirror with a clean overhead fixture replaced the Hollywood bulb strip — better light, no glare.
New chrome faucet, shower set, and accessories to match the bright, minimal look.
Shower valve, supplies, drains, and exhaust all updated to current code during the rebuild.
"Our 1950s bathroom was charming in photos and miserable in practice. Now it is bright, storage-filled, and the shower is fantastic. Fast, tidy, fair price."
